Adrian Kerridge RIP – from Joe Meek to the DC5

Adrian Kerridge is possibly not a name you are familiar with and in keeping with the RockHistory objective we have worked here to shine a light on his many achievements. Starting as a general studio dog’s body in the mid 1950s he spent many hours working with a young Joe Meek travelling around the country recording shows for Radio Luxembourg. Then after a spell in the army he joins Joe at Lansdowne Studios eventually replacing him as chief engineer when Joe had a hissy fit and quit.

Lansdowne was one of the best equipped and busiest London Studios around and they all flocked there to record. This included the publishers sending bands there to do their demos, one such band was the Dave Clark Five who Adrian worked with for most of their career producing hit after hit of the stomping Tottenham Sound that was a near rival for a certain Mersey Beat.
