Eel Pie Island

On the south west side of London in the River Thames there is an island that passed into music folklore as one of the great venues for bands to play in the Sixties. It was based in the Eel Pie Island Hotel with its sprung dance floor and entrance was originally via a chain ferry, where you would enter another world.

A new exhibition about the island and especially the music has opened in the Twickenham Public Library until October 2015 and there are some great artefacts and photos there for you to see.

If you went there in the day, either as a musician or a fan, then please say hello via our contact form as we are very interested in your memories.
