Zoot Money – The Book Of Life… I’ve Read It

Saw Zoot in fine form last night with the overview of his life so far with a band and the musical soundtrack to match. He went back to days of the Flamingo Club and a young Andy Summers on guitar playing R&B and Chuck Berry & Ray Charles numbers though those late, late nights till dawn. My wife was amused to work out that she last saw him about 45 years ago playing the Ealing Town Hall when John Mayall had dropped out and they all considered him to have been an excellent replacement.

Zoot was name checking many that we have lost, including Alexis Korner tipping him off to the Staples Singers ‘Will The Circle Be Unbroken’ which he played as well as discussing recording with Pete Brown and how many songs Pete had written. All home territory, Good stuff
